2019 Metro Classic Preview

The state of New Jersey is flourishing in the basketball scene at the present time as there are many teams throughout the Garden State with talented players. But this coming weekend, there will be a premier event showcasing its talent throughout the state and around the country.

The Metro Classic, which has been in inception since 2013, will be taking place starting tomorrow through this Sunday at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. In past years, there have been plenty of big-time programs and players that have come through this event.

This year will be no exception. As there will be some good games to watch on the schedule, including two involving Montverde Academy, the Montverde, Florida-based school, which is rated No. 4 in the nation according to USA Today. Tomorrow night at 8 PM, they will face off against the Ranney School, which is rated as the No. 11 team in the USA Today poll and No. 1 in the state of New Jersey. On Saturday night at 7:30 PM, Montverde will play against the defending state champions, Roselle Catholic, which is rated as the No. 19 in the USA Today poll and No. 2 team in the state of New Jersey.

Other good games will be between Long Island Lutheran, the Brookville, New York-based school which is ranked as the No. 15 team in the USA Today poll, and Gill St. Bernard’s, which is ranked as the No. 4 team in the state of New Jersey, which will take place on Saturday night at 6 PM. Then there is the undefeated Elizabeth, who are currently 19-0 on the season, and are playing against First Love Christian of Pennsylvania on Sunday night at 6 PM.
