Every year in May, there is a great event happening in Westchester County that brings forth the tri-state area’s top talent together and brings the community some excitement. The name of the event is the Frankie Williams Charity Classic.
The event, which is in sixth year of inception is an event that has brought forth some great talent in recent history. It is also an event named in memory of its namesake, Frankie Williams, who was a big part of the Theodore Young Community Center in Greenburgh, NY, where the game will be held on Friday, May 29th. It is also a fundraiser to help youth in the community with academics and funding for youth programs in the community.
The alumni list includes NBA players such as Lance Stephenson (Charlotte Hornets), Kemba Walker (Charlotte Hornets), Kyle Anderson (San Antonio Spurs), Maurice Harkless ( Orlando Magic), Russ Smith (Memphis Grizzlies) & college players such as Isaiah Whitehead (Seton Hall) and Chris McCullough (Syracuse).
