Today’s game at the NYC Mayor’s Cup brought out some talented seniors from the CHSAA & the PSAL, some of who will end up at Division I rosters in the fall.
The PSAL All-Stars won 117-109 over the CHSAA All-Stars. Hofstra-bound Justin Wright-Foreman, of the HS of Construction, led all scorers with 29 points & won the MVP award.
There was also a lot of great talents that played in the game:
Jermaine Bishop, Holy Cross – One of the top guards in the CHSAA, he is a very good shooter & a solid scorer that could get to basket easily. He will be at St. Louis University in the Atlantic 10 Conference in the fall.
Nakye Sanders, Tottenville – Sanders is big man that is also shooter, but also a huge presence in the low post. He will be at Duquesne University in the Atlantic 10 Conference in the fall.
Tom Capuano, Iona Prep – A great shooter that can get hot at any moment from the three-point line. Can shoot from anywhere on the floor. He will be at Manhattan College in the MAAC conference in the fall.
Matt Ryan, Iona Prep – A long player that can grab some rebounds as well as score on any part of the floor. He is also an efficient shooter. He will be at Notre Dame in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the fall.
Joshua Nurse, Queens HS of Teaching – Efficient on the rim, but is also a good shooter. He will be at St. Francis College in the Northeastern Conference in the fall.
Emile Lewis, WHEELS – Very good offensive player, can penetrate to the lane at any moment. Is very long & athletic. Unsigned.
Jaquan McKennon, Thomas Jefferson – Flashy guard with good point guard instincts. Very good at slicing through the lane. Unsigned.
Doyin Isaac, Xaverian – Flashy ballhandler that can get into the lane. Has good guard IQ. Unsigned.
Najee Larcher, Xaverian – Long & athletic, can get to the basket efficiently. He plays like a big man in a small forward’s body. Unsigned.
